Today we learned where the nice man that honks his horn for us every week, faithfully takes all of the products that we leave on the curb (or whatever our dog doesn' t chew into a million pieces). We visited the American Waste recycling center.
We learned what they do with the #1 and #2 plastics as well as the clear, green and brown bottles, newspaper and carboard. We got to see a couple of big trucks and the real excitement...the mini Bobcat forklift. J.P. was begging for a ride but wasn't allowed since he forgot his steel toed boots.
We also found a great place to take children who may not be inspired to study hard in school -- certainly taking a turn on the conveyer belt sorting plastic bottles in a giant FREEZING COLD poll barn would make studying more attractive. Remind me of that in 12 years.
